Psycho

Watched psycho today at film club, I had seen the shower clip from Hitchcock's film in 1960 and compared it to the remake from Gus Van Sant in1998, but not the whole thing so i was delighted to watch it at film club (1998).
The Setting:
Marion crane is fed up with the way her life is going. she has to her lover Sam in lunch break, they are unable to get married because Sam has given most of his money away so one Friday Marion is trusted to bank $40,000 by her employer, seeing the opportunity to take the money and start a new life, Marion leaves town. tired after the long drive and caught in a storm, she gets off the highway and pulls into Bates motel. the motel is managed by a quiet young man called Norman who seems to be dominated by his mother.

I think it was a good remake and i think the choose the right actor (Vince Vaughn) to play Norman, because he was very polite at the beginning to Marion so you don't think anything is going to happen, he is also very shifty about his mother and it not tell the end you found out the true about his mother. Furthermore there was a couple of continuity error.
I decided to talk about the continuity about  the detective this falling down the stairs you can tell that there is a green screen behind him because it has no verisimilitude as the angle and mise-en-scéne behind stays the same but let he is falling down the stairs. In conclusion I think it is a good film because it not one of those film that you can sit back a relax you have to think about, how there is more to the story that lets off to start with.
