Main Task: Evaluation Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Our media product develops forms and convention of a stereotypical teen horror with isolated teen alone in a abandoned place this link in with horror such as, 'prom night, Jennifer body and also Scream'. This films are mostly set towards the end of a school or college year and this was the idea for ours have a group of teen getting away to go camping in the wood but they never get there. The stereotypes that is piece goes up again is the girls are more unsafe and scared easier this is shown when the boy bangs on the window and they jump, but on the other hand there is only one male present on this trip, makes him seem likely to be the victim. The conventions at are also shown are the car breaking down and the phone being lost. We also picked the phone to be the main focus point in the film as it is a big part of teenagers lives and they feel lost with out it, giving as the main plot and the phone is then has the characters become victims Meanwhile we also decided to have a female driver as in most films it is a male.
Film at show this:
  • Wolf creek
  • The human centipede
  • Jeeper creepers 2
  • Vacancy's
  • Dead End
  • Eden lake
  • Wind chill
  • The hill have eyes
